BARE Weaving 5 Day Women's Retreat - Natural Dyes, Dilly Bags & Yolngu Women's Ceremony

  • Glenreagh NSW Australia (map)

This is going to be an amazing Wowen’s ONLY 5 Day Retreat which will ignite your weaving mojo! Your instructors, Ingrid Riverstone, Kate Rydge and Vanessa Morris will be joined by Guest Master Weaver, Roslyn Malngumba from the Mäpuru Community of North-East Arnhem Land.

Together this amazing group of women will offer you an in depth weaving training - covering plant identification, collection and processing, natural dyes, Dilly Bag weaving (hand twining technique), weaving decorations and bark string creation.

You will also have the chance to learn more about Yolngu culture and share in the exchange of traditional women’s ceremony as has been practiced by Roslyn and her family for thousands of years. Roslyn is a Yolngu elder and senior law holder in her community. She has been mentoring Kate, Ingrid and Vanessa for many years and is thrilled to share this women’s wisdom on Gumbaynggirr Country.

Joining us for this 5 Day Retreat will ignite your passion for weaving and take your basket making skills to a new depth. There will be a chance to dive deeply into your own creative process as your personal journey emerges. This gathering of women will deeply connect us all to the land and an ancient tradition of women’s wisdom.

We would love to have you join us!
