What is it going to take to change this world?

For so many years I have asked what is it going to take to change this world?

For many years I have witnessed the collective way humans source their lives directly from this planet.

Some of what I have seen has gifted me a faith in the human journey I have felt born again into my humanness and spirituality.

I’ve also watched on in horror as I’ve seen our resource hungry culture make wars, destroy ecosystems and the many lives that depend on them, pollute whole river systems and basically live through deceit as we continue to take, take, take - way more than we ever give back.

It was easy for me as a young woman to want to stand against the wrongs I could see in the outside world.

To fight for people to listen and to change.

I used to live every day so angry at the injustice of it all, fully feeling such a deep negativity and using it to drive me forward.

In reality, I was completely stuck in a cycle of anguish.

All I could see was negativity and I became the victim to this hungry machine called western culture.

I couldn’t see the connection at first but eventually life began to teach me there was zero separation between the darkness and rage I could feel inside and the darkness in the outside world I was raging against.

Ultimately, I had to admit I was positioned against myself.

And it had to stop.

Again and again, life forced my hand as she showed me a universal truth – the inside world I experienced as sensations, thoughts and emotions was directly creating my outside reality and through me the world at large was being born.

I was a creator of reality and I was finally awake enough to comprehend this and take responsibility.

To be honest, it hit me like a vodka fuelled night with my old school friends.

Ouch! Painful but strangely liberating.

A reality I could no longer escape presented itself to me.

If I was truly to liberate myself and experience freedom and power I needed to dive within and root out all the places where I carried hate, pain and suffering.

I had to heal and no stone could be left unturned.

The trials and tribulations of what that path looked like is for another time.

But staying on track I’m sure you’re wondering, “What does all this have to do with nature connection?”

Well nature is the body through which your life unfolds.

Every moment you have ever experienced you have intimately shared with the conscious being we call the natural world.

To deny nature as a part of your journey is to deny the most essential part of your true self.

She is the cells that your life story is written through.

She is the paint, the palette of colours, even the wind that moves the brushstrokes as they caress the canvas.

That’s why when you reconnect and heal through nature it feels so good and rocks your world so deeply.

Nature is the substance your whole life experience is made out of and all of your healing and power lies unearthed within her.

Nature connection practices are repeatable and dependable pathways that make it possible to dig into the dirt and grow this for yourself – sit spots, primitive fire, wilderness solo quests, wild villages – it’s all about returning to the heart of the natural world and through her finding the sort of liberation, freedom and power you crave.

You can’t find that shit in the human world. This is not human power I’m talking about.

It’s nature’s power and as a human you were born with the ability to become a vessel for this energy.

Even the simple act of a sit spot in nature means you can co-regulate and saturate your being with the energy of the natural world and though this union learn to walk powerful and free.

To me it feels critical none of us ever give up on this journey of awakening.

It’s critical to take action in your life, to live from your soul, to comprehend your spiritual purpose and to live in harmony with nature.

In the end, it's the only real game in town.

Thanks for leaning in with me.

Sending love,

Kate
