National Sorry Day

Have you ever hurt someone and had to apologise in order to create repair? đź’”

Have you ever experienced needing to be humble enough to apologise many times because the hurt is so great it’s difficult for the person to heal? 💔💔

Today is National Sorry Day and despite the many distractions that have kept this day out of the mainstream media, here at Nature Philosophy we haven’t forgotten.

We feel deeply, deeply sorry for the past and present genocide of Indigenous Australian communities.

Words can’t really do justice to what our Australian Aboriginal brothers and sisters have had to endure since we “colonised” their lands.

We have witnessed many times, first hand how deeply this trauma is held AND how many of our cultural institutions blindly manage to keep this story alive today.

Nature Philosophy acknowledges our role to recognise, witness and honour this deep pain as a way to support our Indigenous Australian brothers and sisters to heal.

We are committed to this healing journey and can see a bright future where the strength & sovereignty of Aboriginal communities is respected and upheld.

We invite you to join with us tonight in offering a heart felt apology to Australia’s Traditional Owners - past, present and future.

To feel it in our hearts. To do it for real.

So your apology can shape shift into a powerful prayer of cultural renewal and repair.

We invite you to join us in taking responsibility, in the present for this very real genocide.

We invite you to support genuine RECONCILIATION so we can heal this land we now all call home.
